Version 0.3.2

Casino Pest Control
|
Once you get your
Coin Case
,
the casino is yours to conquer! If you try to use the slot machines,
an occasional pest appears to bother you and the other patrons.
|
|
Porygon
and its evolved forms are adept at using
cyberspace to their advantage. This gives them an edge when gambling at
the slots! Normally they are banned from the casino, but somehow they're
finding their way past security.
In this optional side quest, you will search for the source of these
pests and make sure they never come back!
|
If you interact with one of these
Porygon
, it will scurry away,
encoding itself into cyberspace to travel through the casino's computer
network, popping out at a different slot machine.
|
|
Though the
Porygon
show up from the beginning of the game,
there's not much you can do other than battle them
until you both obtain the
Coin Case
.
and unlock the field move
Spark
in the
Once you've done both, you can
Spark
the slot machines
(using a compatible Pokemon in your party)
to temporarily take them offline.
|
|
Once a machine is offline,
Porygon
will no longer travel to it.
You can corner them into one last machine! And then...
|
|
On seeing that the
Porygon
has left the casino, the handyman chasing
them has an idea for how to track them. Talk to him again after
returning to the lobby. He'll equip you with a way to track the
Porygon
.
|
|
Hand the
Casino Magnetite
over to the
Porygon
.
|
|
Casino Magnetite
in place,
Spark
away all of the slot machines again.
When you're ready to follow the
Porygon
, equip yourself with a battle-ready
party that has at least one Pokemon that can learn
Teleport
.
Head outside and use the
Casino Lodestone
.
|
|
Now you're in someone's living room? Unsurprisingly, they're not
thrilled by your intrusion. Time for a double battle!

Once you defeat them, they'll make a weak attempt to enroll you in their
scam. These two have installed a security vulnerability into the
casino's network which allows
Porygon
to travel there in spite of
any firewalls!
Porygon
infiltrates the casino, uses its computational
advantages to make a killing, and then returns with profit in exchange
for an
Up-Grade
. It's quite a tale. Better to not get involved.
If you fail to defeat these trainers, on the other hand,
they'll still try to recruit you, but then they'll unceremoniously kick you out.
|
|
If you did defeat the trainers, then you can hang around in their apartment.
Before you leave
and figure out where you actually are, make sure to retrieve the
Casino Magnetite
.
If you're feeling nice, you can offer the
Porygon
the
Up-Grade
that's conveniently on the table. It will be very happy if you do!
|
|
This will salvage your reputation a bit, after you've invaded someone's home.
But the
Porygon
will also accept a few other items as an offering.
|
You can also get the
Casino Magnetite
back from the
Porygon
by
attacking it, catching it, or scaring it so it runs away.
|
|
Once you have everything you need, leave the apartment.
The door locks behind you - even if you did consider joining the scheme,
this should tell you that it wasn't a genuine offer.
It seems like they have some kind of exit strategy, and they're using it.
Head back to the casino to report what you've found and to
return the
Casino Magnetite
and
Casino Lodestone
.
Head back to the casino and... what the heck is going on?
|
|
When the schemers cut and run, something went wrong.
Or maybe this was part of their plan.
Who knows.
Whatever the case, battle the two
PORYGON_Z
and free the handyman.
It's time to search for the device that keeps the network open.
Head upstairs to the third and fourth floors. The handyman will let you into
any locked rooms. There will be a few more wild
PORYGON_Z
double battles
on the way up.
|
|
On the third and fourth floors, the
PORYGON_Z
you see are more aggressive
and will attack you on sight. If they see you, they will launch a preemptive
strike, so be careful and use
Psychic Terrain
to
stop the preemptive strikes if they're wearing your party down too much.
You can enter all of the rooms, but your destination is the room on the
bottom right of the fourth floor.
|
|
The
PORYGON_Z
wandering around this room are a pretty good sign that you're
in the right place! The one guarding the PC is extra suspicious.
Prepare for a totem battle!
|
|
Battle won, search the PC and this time there is something there!
After retrieving it, all the
Porygon
will disappear from the casino.
Your quest is over!
The handyman will ask you to return the
Casino Lodestone
and
Casino Magnetite
.
You can refuse, but there's no incentive to do so - these items won't do
anything anymore. And if you do return them, you'll receive a sizeable
chunk of coins as a reward (though you will receive fewer if you were unable
to retrieve the
Casino Magnetite
. Great work!
