Version 0.3.2
|
|
Gym badge obtained, we're not quite done with
Sirius Wharf
yet.
Remember that tech expo your rival mentioned? The queue has cleared
away. Go check it out!
|
|
Is it even possible to attend a public event without Team Nova showing up?
We'll never know. But this time, the stakes are real and the firepower is
intense. Your odds of success here are... low. It's probably best to cut
your losses and yield the battle.
|
|
You'll be imprisoned in the auditorium with the other expo attendees,
held in place by a few guards. Someone named Triton is here
with you. He laid low, so his apparent Pokemon expertise went un-noticed.
Seems like a pretty big oversight. It's certainly going to lead to an
opportunity for escape.
|
Team Nova Grunt
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The unprepared grunts dealt with, Triton has a plan for what to do.
Sneak over to the train station to go recruit some outside help.
|
|
It's a mixed success. Team Nova manages to cut power off to the train before you can
get anywhere too useful. Now you're stranded in
Tvashtar Summit
, with no help on the
way to
Sirius Wharf
. Better look for an exit. Make your way up to the summit
and eventually you'll find a hermit who lives up here. He is sympathetic and
will both send you back to
Sirius Wharf
, and send word of the assault to Andromeda City.
|
|
When you arrive, Triton and the Nova admin, Hyperion, are battling.
She sees you arrive and decides to consolidate Nova's position in the city.
Time to team up with Triton and disrupt that notion as much as you can
while waiting for reinforcements! He will show you his party so you know
what to expect.

Your target for disruption is the Potions warehouse.
If Team Nova can consolidate there, then they'll have a huge supply to
bunker down for a siege. On the way there, there's a few Nova recruits
in grunts in the way.
If you need to access a PC, then you can do so in the office building en route
to the warehouse.
|
|
Team Nova Recruit
|
|
|
|
|
|
Unsurprisingly, Triton is quite a lot more powerful than your average Team Nova
recruit or grunt. Don't let him do all the work, though - damage and
status of his team will persist between battles! You can talk to him if
you want to check in on his party or switch his Pokemon around - his first
three healthy Pokemon are the ones he'll use in battle.
There's one more mandatory 2-vs.-2 battle before you reach the warehouse.

Once you're in the warehouse, you have some options.
The backpacks have been prepared with some supplies for the siege.
Unsurprisingly, Team Nova isn't going to let you just have them.
The trainers here are listed in order: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left.
The best loot is in the backpack at the top left, which also has the
toughest trainer.
You must battle at least one of the Nova recruits or grunts before exiting,
but you can battle them all and collect all the supplies if you like.

When you exit the warehouse, Team Nova has consolidated a defensive position
in spite of your attempts to disrupt it. All that's left for them to
become unbeatable is to defeat you and Triton.

Team Nova Hyperion
|
|
|
|
|
During this tag battle, Hyperion and Triton will only attack each other.
Ignoring the Nova recruit might be tempting, but he'll play a supporting
role setting up screens and using
Heal Pulse
if you don't disrupt him.
You won't have much of a chance against Hyperion if she takes out Triton.
Set up status if you can, or go after the recruit if you can't.
Triton will prefer his healthiest Pokemon for this battle, but talk to
him before leaving the warehouse if you want him to use a particular Pokemon.
|
What a saga!
When you're ready, head back to the Umbricorp Auditorium to debrief your dad
on what's been going on with Team Nova.
|
|
When you're done, the Umbricorp President has a few gifts for you!
|
|
And a job...
|
|
Conveniently, the President's request happens to align with the other things on your itinerary.
You have a lot of reasons to go to Point Vega,
but if you're in no rush there are a few things you can do in
Sirius Wharf
before departing. Including show your dad how your skills have progressed
since leaving Andromeda City.

First and foremost, you can exchange the bike voucher you received from the
Umbricorp President for an actual bike. The bike shop is the red warehouse
next to the train station.
|
|
A surf taxi Pokemon is now servicing Sirius Wharf. You can find them
just to the south of the Umbricorp headquarters. There's a few things to find
while surfing around
Ligeia Mare East
. To the north, there are some interesting items,
and quite a few (optional) trainers.

And in a little cove to the south, you can find the inverse battle illusionist

It's finally time to leave the city. Head south to
Carina Outpost
!
There's a few trainers but otherwise nothing too interesting between you and
the outpost other than a few items.
|
|
The outpost itself has a few things to do, or nothing at all if you're in a hurry.
|
|
Carina Outpost is a sleepy Pokemon preservation area.
Here you'll find the daycare, a Pokemon research lab where you can revive your
fossils, or just a few random trainers hanging out on the nearby sandbar.

When you're ready to leave, head through the gatehouse to
Ascraeus Mons
,
the major mountain standing between you and
Point Vega
. It's a long trek,
so bring supplies!
|
|
As you approach the exit to the mountain, you'll encounter this paranoid fellow.
After he realizes you don't pose any threat to him, he'll teach you a cool
new technique!
|
|
You can use
Psychic Terrain
in the overworld
to dodge attacks from wild Pokemon. Check out the move's page for details!
|
Now you've left
Ascraeus Mons
. You're not quite to
Point Vega
yet.
The last stretch,
Tharsis Terra
, has a few items waiting for you
if you're patient to explore.
|
|
Head due south to
Point Vega
, or if you're in the mood for some story,
you can head west first. It's available to you now, but we'll cover
what happens over there in the next chapter.
Before heading into the gym, it's a good idea to collect the
Utility Umbrella
.
|
|
Finally, time to collect your fourth gym badge!
The Pokemon in this gym don't adhere to a specific type, but a specific
place - they are all at home on the beach!
The only required trainer in this gym should be the leader, Magaclite.

You have the option to battle Magaclite in your choice of
heavy rain, strong sunlight, or blustery sandstorm.
Magaclite's team adapts to the weather, so most of his Pokemon
have some kind of edge no matter your choice.
