Version 0.3.2
Welcome to Pokemon Voyager!
See the Features Guide for assistance choosing your game options. The walkthrough begins when you wake up in your room!
There's no decisions to make yet; exit your house and meet Dad outside. He'll take you to the soon-to-be-defunct Pokemon Gym on the northeast side of the city. As you enter the basement to move out some boxes, an earthquake rocks the city and traps you in the basement!
The earthquake cracks open the wall to reveal a cave on the other side.
Dad is injured, so it's up to you to find a way out. To guard yourself in the cave, he offers you three Pokemon. You will only get to keep one, so choose your favorite and set it to the front of your party.
Kipvine
is a fast physical attacker;
Nemelt
is a bulky physical wall; and
Raiad
is a special attacker.
Part 1: Underground Cave
Make your way into the cave. There are a few nooks and crannies which have some items, but otherwise it's a linear path towards... a dead end. But at least there's a shiny artifact!
Pick up the artifact. That never goes wrong, right?
If it's going to, it doesn't just yet. Nothing interesting happens when you pick it up. Make your way back towards Dad - at least you can show him something shiny.
Before you get all the way back, you find a spot where the cavern wall is thin. You can hear some workers on the other side.
Call for help; your time in the cave has ended. For now.
Part 2: Trainer's License
After the story sequence plays out in the hospital, it's time to get your Trainer's License.
Your mom will walk you part of the way.
From here, continue straight west and cross the bridge. On the way, you'll have your first encounter with Team Nova.
After you battle the Nova recruiter, finish crossing the bridge. Someone will ask you to help them decipher the city map to find the Trainer's School; help them if you like. Use the map to find your way there. Someone is waiting for you there!
Name your rival, and then head inside. It's time to register for class.
Name your rival, and then head inside. It's time to register for class. Go through the door on the right and start the Building Your Team class.
The class instructor will give you a few Pokeballs to catch some Pokemon. You don't have to catch any, but if you do you will receive some Great Balls as a prize. The class ends after you have encountered three distinct species of Pokemon, or spent sufficient time there. During class, the instructor will heal your Pokemon for you. This will help a lot to train up the Pokemon you just caught!
Once you've completed the class, the instructor will give you an Experience All.
This key item has a few modes which change the way battle experience is applied to your
party. Check out the Experience section of the Battle Engine documentation for details!
Exit the outdoor class area and head up the stairs to Basics of Battle. The class is in the first door at the top of the stairs. In this class, you'll complete a few trainer battles back-to-back. Between each battle, you can change your lead Pokemon, and the instructor will heal your Pokemon for free.
Once you've completed the class, head downstairs and get your Trainer Card!
Part 3: Underground Cave, Reprise
Now that you have your Trainer Card, it's time to go visit Professor Arcturus. Head back east to Andromeda Villa. If you're interested in a detour, hop on the Surf Taxi Pokemon. You can catch a nice Water-type Pokemon, and surf around to find the TM for Aqua Jet.
You can also build a little more variety into your team from the stray Pokemon in Andromeda Villa. You can also find Applin in berry trees, in addition to getting the berries. A botanist maintains a berry garden on the southeast side of Andromeda Villa. She'll re-plant any berries you pick. When you're done exploring, walk back to the old gym on the northeast end of Andromeda Villa, or fast travel there using one of the city map signs.
Head into the gym. Calamity ensues! A rogue character bursts into the gym.
Head after them and find your way back to the place you found the weird artifact. Prepare for battle and confront the rogue!
Mysterious Trainer
Your pokedex failed to identify this trainer's Pokemon? That's weird... maybe you got a faulty Pokedex?
Win or lose, you are now entangled in this mystery. But you were going to explore the world anyway, right? It's time to head to Sol City for your first Antares League Gym challenge!
